In Via Veritas introduces a new paradigm for thinking about architecture and urban planning. The road or route (via in Latin) allows us to look at space in a different way. A place is not an isolated entity, but the result of movements, relations, flows and processes. The route is not infrastructure, but is primarily culturally, socially, economically and politically determined. Routes tell something about the use of a place. They create meaning and identity.
The publication is the result of research by Joeri De Bruyn (Public Space), Maarten Van Acker (University of Antwerp) and Maat designers.
