bMa – man of thoughts

Olivier Bastin, the first ‘Maître-architecte’ (bMa) for Brussels, has supervised more than 230 architectural and urban planning projects since the start of his mandate in 2009. His mission: to establish an architectural culture in the capital. The bMa reports in a book and an exhibition. The former ticket office hall in the headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis, designed by Jules Wabbes, provides the backdrop. The installation is constructed entirely of cardboard. After the exhibition ends, the modernist building will be demolished to make way for the bank’s new headquarters.
