Vernieuwing van stationsomgevingen in Vlaanderen en Nederland

Joeri De Bruyn en Maarten Van Acker (eds.)

€ 40

The past decade has been dominated by major European station renovation projects. Think of the prestigious stations of Antwerp, Liège, Rotterdam or Lille. Today, it is the turn of smaller cities. This second wave of station renovation projects requires a different approach and a different spatial vision than that for the metropolitan HST stations.

This book tells the story of the renewal of the station environment in 11 small and medium-sized Flemish and Dutch cities. It gives a first impression of the special projects in the pipeline and describes the processes used to arrive at them. But the book also digs deeper: it explores the impact that the station had, has and may have in the future for the city and its surroundings. In six chapters the book unravels the significance of the station environment in all its facets and searches for a grammar of the station environment of the 21st century.

The 11 cities are: Aarschot, Bergen op Zoom, Diest, Hasselt, Herentals, Heerlen, Roosendaal, Sint-Truiden, Tienen, Tongeren and Turnhout.

This book is only available in Dutch.
